Glucose is a better carbon source than xylose for pDNA and biomass synthesis by E. coli PTS- GalP+ Δ (recA deoR).
The simultaneous consumption of glucose and xylose by E. coli PTS- GalP+ Δ (recA deoR) increased growth rate without a significant effect on pDNA yield.
The use on glucose-xylose mixtures is an easy and effective strategy to improve pDNA production by engineered E. coli strains.
